It has been 15 years since I was studying for the CFP exam that I have been buried in textbooks. I just completed the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation. Why? Recently I had received several referrals from estate planning attorneys to help recently divorced clients and felt that some additional education on the very unique challenges was warranted. The designation will also allow me to act as a partner with family law attorneys or an expert witness. Financial planners are problem solvers at heart and the more complicated the more rewarding. I'm looking forward to helping individuals in a very emotional time to make sure they understand the short-term and long-term financial impacts of different settlement proposals.
